leukste uitjes volgens onze lezers

In the first months of the year, we were able to have no less than 2 interns join our team. Our intern Claudia did a survey among our readers to find out what they think are the best things to do. In this blog we have made a nice overview for you.

Into nature

Several readers enjoy going into nature. Thus, the tip for a bicycle tour in Limburg is given. In our blog cycling and hiking in Limburg, we recommend several fun cycling routes in this province. But a visit to the beach is also indicated several times as a fun activity in nature. Beachcombing is one of the activities that was given as a tip. In the blog What is the most beautiful beach in the Netherlands, Sonja searched for the most beautiful beaches in our country.

Bike tours

Not only do our readers enjoy cycling in nature, bicycle tours combined with tastings are also in demand. Tips from our side for that are the Food ‘n Route from Inside Rotterdam, and the bike tours from Baja Bikes that can be customized in 19 cities in the Netherlands (and many more worldwide)! But also the Utours bike tour in Utrecht is highly recommended, if you want to get to know the cozy city of Utrecht.

Sports and games

Enjoying outdoor team building activities such as paintballing, raft building, climbing and abseiling is something we have heard back several times. For example at Outdoor Valley in Bergschenhoek, the Boerinn in Woerden, Outdoorpark Alkmaar, De Uithof in The Hague and De Tuinderij in De Lier. Survival falls are also heard in several responses. This is possible, for example, at Poldersport De Kwakel.

But challenging yourself in an escaperoom is also an activity indicated by several of you. In the blog De leukste escaperooms van Nederland we share our experiences about different escaperooms throughout the country. (Do check the current arrangements to see if they are open) And car rides, we were also tipped off about that by several people. Solex driving, for example, can be done on the Veluwe at De Blokhut, or in Limburg at Parkhoeve de Middelt. And in Westland you can do several tours and a real Deux Chevaux at Eendentours Westland.

On an adventure

The real sports enthusiasts among you tip us to go on an adventure. Hiking, swimming or surfing. In our blog De leukste strandtenten voor watersporters you will find different locations for fun beach activities. Or arrange an introductory diving lesson (for example at Dive4all in Utrecht) and end the adventurous day with a cool campfire.

Sailing

Interestingly, we received many responses to enjoy getting out on the water. Boating proved very popular, especially during the spring 2020 lockdown. You can enjoy the water and keep your distance from others. So we received the tip to sail with a whistler boat. The idea of combining the cruise with drinks and snacks also appeals to people. And the more sporty readers among you like to go kayaking. Also fun: in the nature reserve behind Delft Tanthof you have a whole network of small waters where you can enjoy supping and canoeing. In the blog Rent a sloop and get out on the water you will find several nice places in the country to sail with a sloop or whistler boat.

Special location

A special location we were tipped off about, which was not yet known to us, is Fort Pampus. On Wikipedia they tell us that Pampus is a fortress island in the IJmeer, built as part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam to defend the channel Pampus against attacks from the Zuiderzee. On their own website, they tell you that you can take a boat from Muiden or IJburg to this fort island and that you can wander freely here or be led by a guide. And you may explore the corridors and rooms of the fort. In summer, it is also a wonderful place to swim. At the moment, Pampus is still closed due to the Corona lockdown. But keep a close eye on the website to be the first to get there as soon as the weather permits!

Looking for a piece of culture

There are also people who like to explore a village in the Netherlands, or just across the border in Germany. Villages where a piece of history can be found, such as castles or villages that tell a story around World War II. And are plenty of villages in the country with a rich history. In her blog On vacation in Drenthe, Marian already told about the brink villages in Drenthe and the Prison Museum in Veenhuizen.

There are several organizations that offer a wide range of fun activities throughout the country. For example, SurpriseFactory and Monster Events.

This blog on the most fun outings according to our readers was created from the tips we received from our readers combined with tips we have data in previous blogs and several of the venues we work with.
