Tips for the most fun mother-daughter outing

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. But it doesn’t have to be Mother’s Day to do fun things with your daughter. We have tips for moms with young, as well as slightly older daughters that are sure to please! For at home and away from home.

Fun mother-daughter outings together

In daily life we are all busy. That is why it is good to make some real time for each other. Often it doesn’t even have to be a whole day, just enough to give each other some attention. Some things don’t even have to cost money!

Schedule a movie night

What could be better than an evening stretched out on the couch with tasty snacks and a cozy movie. Exactly! Schedule a movie night with your daughter! Will it be a romantic comedy, an animated film or an exciting thriller? Tasty snacks and drinks should not be missing on such an evening. Is your daughter young? Then a bowl of chips is often a great idea! Do you have an adolescent daughter or a daughter who is even older? Then get something special, such as from a delicatessen. Add a blanket and enjoy! Would you rather go out? Then grab a movie theater, a show at a theater or maybe even a musical! The latter is truly a mother-daughter outing!

Have a good time together

Even very young girls often enjoy tinkering. Painting each other’s nails, combing their hair, you name it. Music on in the background and enjoy together! Earlier we wrote a blog with home beauty tips. Maybe you will find something fun to do here! Do you have an older daughter? Then take her to a beauty salon for a Turkish Hammam, massage or a sauna visit. A day at the Spa Wellness is always good too. A wonderful place for a day of pure pampering is Blitz Wellness. Day shopping

Take your daughter out shopping! Shopping is not only fun, it’s also entertaining. For example, go shopping with your daughter in Utrecht. Shopping in The Hague, Maastricht, Rotterdam and Groningen is also super fun! Is the weather not favourable? Then you can always go shopping in an indoor mall. Is your daughter a little too young to store in the big city? Then hold a fashion show at home! Put on some Spotify music, combine the craziest items and show them off to each other!

Take (too) crazy selfies!

Taking selfies is always fun and funny. Okay, some are nothing to look at and are definitely not suitable for further distribution, but some are super fun. There are all kinds of fun apps you can use to spice up your selfies, such as Snapchat, Fabby, Photo Lab and Animal Face. All of these apps are free, except Photo Lab has a little watermark in the photo. Out and about with your adolescent daughter? Then go take selfies in an Instagram museum. Bet you’ll love that too And the memories are priceless.

Organize a game night

Bring out the chips, because we are having a game night! Earlier we wrote a blog about games for home. Always fun and entertaining to do. Want to make it a little more exciting? Then play an escape game! There are offline and online variants. We wrote a blog about this earlier. You can also make a Kahoot quiz separately and play it together. Always surprising what comes out of it.

Cook together or eat out

Cooking together or baking something delicious is also fun to do at home. Pick a recipe together, get the groceries together, get to work together and then feast together. Truly the ultimate mother-daughter moment! Baking a cake together is also fun to do, and quicker than a whole meal. Handy for when you both have a little less time. Because of the short time, baking together is ideal as a mother-daughter outing when your daughter is young. Baking cookies together is the most fun there is. Would you rather go out with your daughter? Then take her out to dinner at your favorite brasserie or surprise her with a dinner she could never normally afford. It’s sure to be a top night!

Do a workshop together

Get to know each other’s creative sides during a creative workshop. Visiting a creative fair is always fun, too. Or enjoy cooking together at a cooking workshop. Don’t feel like working on your own? Then have a nice high-tea together or, if your daughter is a bit older, a high wine! There are also adventurous mother-daughter outings. But then you have to be real daredevils.
